Going to see your Ottawa dentist on a regular basis does one of two things. The first thing it does is help you improve your smile; a thorough inspection and cleaning by your Ottawa dentist and hygienist respectively will ensure that your teeth and gums are as healthy as can be. The second thing that going to the dentist can do for you is more a by product of the first thing: a boost in confidence. When your Ottawa dentist helps you thoroughly clean your teeth, or can correct an issue that may have been causing you pain or embarrassment, usually your confidence will go up afterwards. This means that all of your interactions afterwards will be improved because of that boost in confidence. Dentists are able to help set your mouth free.
When it comes to those who are directly responsible for keeping us safe and free of harm, some dentists believe it is only right to give back. “Dr. Alex Bell was inspired by his late father, a Navy veteran who started Family Dental Associates. Bell was joined by his two sons, who are also dentists, in performing everything from teeth cleanings and pain relief to crowns and dentures for veterans.
James Phillips, a veteran of 22 years in the Navy, said more clinics should provide services like this. ‘It’s been a long time since people cared this much about veterans. And these people, they actually do, they care and they’ll do anything,’ he said. ‘This is a dental clinic where you would expect to pay, we’ve paid nothing. They did this out of the goodness of their heart.’”
If you have yet to see your Ottawa dentist for a check-up or a cleaning, make sure you contact them. Also, make sure you always honour and show respect to the veterans who have helped keep us safe.
